mediatEur is pleased to introduce the international Advisory Council for the European Institute of Peace (EIP) project. The Council counts 22 outstanding individuals, specialists and change agents in the mediation field contributing together to shape the future framework of the EIP. The Advisory Council provides strategic and operational guidance and inputs to the project. Council members will work to: Identify areas of competence and relevance for the future of EIP Give critical input and substantial feedback on EIP materials aimed at creating building blocks for future EIP activities Share information among members of the Council and with their extended network of contacts Participate in EIP events and act as hosts when possible. MediatEUr's project 'Creating Improved Capacities for International Peace Mediation' hosted the second in a series of meetings exploring needs and options for EU stand-by capacity for mediation. Aim of the expert seminar was to support the implementation of the EU's 2009 Concept on Strengthening Dialogue and Mediation Capacities, by looking at several stand-by capacity models that could be adapted for this purpose.

Mission to South Sudan

In August 2012, mediatEUr partner Canan Gündüz travelled to Juba, South Sudan, to support an ongoing Conflict and Peacebuilding Assessment that is being carried out by International Alert and the South Sudanese Academics and Researchers Forum for Development.
