Carne Ross

Carne Ross is a former senior British diplomat who resigned over the Iraq war, after serving as the UK’s Iraq expert at the UN Security Council 1997-2002. He then founded Independent Diplomat (ID), the world’s first non-profit diplomatic advisory group. ID works with the democratic representatives of poor and marginalized peoples worldwide to ensure that their views are heard in the otherwise-closed forums of international diplomacy. ID advised Kosovo before its independence, and is now advising, among others, Southern Sudan on the complex diplomatic process to establish a new state, and Pacific island states on UN climate change negotiations.
Mr. Ross is the author of “Independent Diplomat,” and “The Leaderless Revolution: how ordinary people will take power and change politics in the 21st century”.
